Hosting Checker

Get the hosting provider of a given website

Two websites can look identical on the surface and be running on completely different infrastructure. Hosting Checker looks past the domain and the design to identify the actual hosting provider behind any website — whether that's a major cloud platform, a shared hosting company, a dedicated server provider, or a content delivery network.

The tool works by analyzing the IP address the domain resolves to and cross-referencing it against known IP ranges belonging to hosting providers and cloud services. When a site is behind Cloudflare, AWS, Google Cloud, or similar infrastructure, that's reflected in the result. When it's on a traditional shared host or a regional provider, that shows up too.

For competitive research, knowing where a competitor's site is hosted gives you useful context about their technical setup and, indirectly, their infrastructure budget. A company running on enterprise cloud infrastructure has made different choices than one on shared hosting — and that sometimes tells you something about their scale and priorities.

For developers and agencies pitching hosting recommendations to clients, showing that comparable sites in an industry are on certain platforms adds weight to the argument. For security researchers, identifying the hosting provider is an early step in understanding the attack surface of a target they're authorized to assess.

Hosting information also matters during incident response. If a site you manage suddenly starts behaving strangely and you suspect a DNS hijack or hosting compromise, verifying the current hosting provider against what it should be is a quick and important check. Unexpected changes here are a red flag worth investigating immediately.
